Education & Qualifications:

During my 12 years serving on the Board of Directors of the Half Moon Bay Fire
Protection District, I have consistently supported the modernization of the
fire Department and encouraged a progressive fire service delivery system by
recruiting and selecting qualified staff. Having held the position as President
of the Board for the last two terms, I have provided leadership, which enabled
the District's paid Firefighters to attain Emergency Medical Technician
qualification that has enabled them to save lives. In addition, I am exploring
and supporting a Paramedic program and the first ever water rescue team for the
Coast. Serving as Volunteer Liaison, I've supported the elevation of our
Volunteer Firefighters to California State Certification. Through frugal
management, I participated and supported the design and soon to be constructed
new Fire Administrative and Fire Station facility, within the Fire District's
budget. No new taxes have been imposed during my 12 years of service on the
Board. As a 20 year Firefighter (retired) and my current experience on the
Board, I feel I am qualified to continue to provide leadership to the Staff,
fellow Board members, and the community in providing the best life saving
protection for our community.
