                 Statement of JOSEPH MARTIN, Candidate for
                        City Council Member, Seat 2
   Occupation: Financial Adviser
   Age: 34
   Education and Qualifications:
   
   Mr. Martin has been a trader, a stockbroker, a financial planner,
   financial adviser, and a general securities principle for the past 4
   years both in New York City, and here in Silicon Valley.
   
   Mr. Martin has had many years of experience working with many local,
   state and congressional elected officials dealing with such matters as
   zoning issues, public planning, and public services issues, including
   homelessness issues. And has served as an elected member of his
   parties county committee.
   
   Prior to this Mr. Martin had been the founder and CEO, of his own
   import Export Company had dealt in 6 countries and employed over 300
   people. Mr. Martin stated this company with only $5000.
   
   While Mr. Martin was attending college, he had served as a volunteer
   (reserve) police officer and promoted to sergeant after only 3 years.
   As an emergency service unit (rescue) officer, Mr. Martin had been
   decorated 15 times including the medal of valor (The departments
   highest award), and received the medal of commendation (the second
   highest medal) 6 times. He was also the second most highly decorated
   officer in his department of over 40,000 officers.
   
   Mr. Martin has always maintained a balance between work and community
   service all threw out his career, and would very much like to continue
   to serve his community as your representative on the city council for
   the next 4 years.
