Mike Spinelli	Age: 52
Occupation: Businessman
Education and Qualifications:
Four years ago I promised to be an independent voice speaking out for the needs
of residents, and that's exactly what I've done.
Three times I traveled to Washington, D.C., testifying before Congress to
prevent BART from implementing a poorly conceived plan for a Millbrae station
that would turn Burlingame's north end into a massive railyard, overwhelm
Burlingame with traffic and jeopardize other mass transit such as CalTrain.
I'll continue fighting -- To downsize "monster" homes...To maintain the healthy
retail/restaurant mix in Broadway and Burlingame Avenue shopping districts...To
broadcast City Council meetings on cable TV.
I supported our new Bayfront sports facility with lighted soccer field,
baseball diamond and golf driving range. I feel that cooperative agreements
with our school districts reasonably enable us to provide quality recreational
facilities.
I believe it's essential to protect children from Internet-based pornography by
using screening tools in library children's areas while preserving full adult
access to the Internet.
An independent candidate not tied to any special interests, I strive to keep
Burlingame a quality community. But I can continue to do so only with your
vote.
