	Official Ballot Statement

              Statement of VICTOR M. REID, III, Candidate for
                           Governing Board Member
   Occupation: Investment Manager/Securities
   Age: 51
   Education and Qualifications:
   
   I have three daughters: one has been through the Los Altos Elementary
   School District and is currently a senior at the high school; one is
   in the sixth grade at Almond School; and the youngest attends
   kindergarten at Almond School. Because of this, I feel I have a sense
   of where the LASD has been and where we need to go and I want to be a
   part of this process. The problems created as a result of the increase
   in student population at our schools and the demand for more
   classrooms to accommodate smaller sized classes need to be addressed.
   I am currently the treasurer and have been a board member of the Los
   Altos Educational Foundation since 1994. I have been an active PTA
   member for over eleven years; am a past president of the Almond Site
   Council, and past Egan parent and PTA member.
