Summary: Economic developmentI will support continued and increased investment in economic development activities, such as the Economic Development Corporation. Through the General Plan update I will support identifying and properly zoning sufficient land for industrial, manufacturing, and commercial activities, and work to provide funds for necessary infrastructure improvements (e.g., sewer, water and roads). I will also continue working with educational and training institutions, to ensure we have a trained and well-prepared work force. Overall, my goal is to encourage the creation of higher skilled and better-paid jobs, to increase household incomes and significantly decrease the unemployment and poverty rates in our county and region. |
