A Letter to our Senior CitizensBy Ellen PirieCandidate for Supervisor; County of Santa Cruz; Supervisorial District 2 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Ellen has a long history of standing up for senior citizensTo Senior Citizens in the Second District
On March 7th the voters in the 2nd District will select a new Supervisor to replace the retiring Walt Symons. This time, senior citizens and those concerned about the rights and needs of the elderly will have a unique opportunity to elect someone who has fought for their rights for nearly 16 years # Ellen Pirie.
Ellen has worked as an attorney at Senior Citizens Legal Services (SCLS) since 1984 and she's been the Directing Attorney for the last 12 years. SCLS is a law office that provides free legal services to the elderly and disabled.
Every day of her professional life, Ellen listens to senior citizens and the disabled describe their problems and she has learned about their concerns. She has fought for senior citizens to provide access to health care, to challenge consumer fraud, to prevent elder abuse and to protect nursing home patients. Ellen Pirie is a woman who understands the critical issues facing senior citizens, who cares deeply about them and who will fight for them when she is elected Supervisor.
We are supporting Ellen and we hope you will, too. She is the only candidate in this election with a record of fighting for the rights of the elderly and disabled. Don't miss the opportunity to elect someone who will support seniors. Vote for Ellen Pirie.
