Gwyneth Borden is a legislative aide for Supervisor Gavin Newsom, where she develops, writes and helps to pass legislation, and performs outreach surrounding the Supervisor's efforts. She staffs the Supervisor on policy and Board committee issues, and works with constituents and constituent groups to problem-solve and create relevant legislation. Two key issues she has been involved with are improving San Francisco's SRO housing stock and evaluating San Francisco's homeless services. Prior to joining Supervisor Newsom's Office, she was a project manager at GCA Strategies where she was responsible for strategic planning and community organizing. She focused on researching and developing local issues and solutions through interacting with community groups and local government officials on diverse issues ranging from affordable housing, labor, and land use. Prior to joining GCA, Ms. Borden was a project assistant with the Rockefeller Brothers Fund's Project on World Security and a staff assistant in U.S. Senator Barbara Boxer's Office. Ms. Borden's civic involvements include being vice president of the San Francisco Young Democrats; program chair, Capital Campaign Community Gifts Chair, and member of the Board of Managers of the Bayview-Hunter's Point YMCA; and an active member in the Junior League of San Francisco. She formerly was the public relations director for the California Young Democrats. Ms. Borden performs community service in her spare time working with kids. Ms. Borden is a graduate of Dickinson College (BA Policy Studies) and completed public relations classes at The George Washington University. |
