The most important qualities of a judge are fairness, integrity, and a strong sense of justice. A criminal judge must be willing to protect the community from violent criminals while always insuring that trials are fair and the rights of the accused are protected. A judge must also recognize that the willingness of citizens to act as trial jurors or to testify as witnesses when called is essential to the operation of the justice system. A good judge will therefore alway treat jurors, witnesses and others that appear in court with the respect and dignity that they deserve. |
