Strawberry as a Special Recreation District has been blessed with a well developed sense of community participation and volunteerism which I treasure and will continue to expand. I think Strawberry offers a real sense of community and a healthy place to bring families and to volunteer to share your particular talents...The Strawberry Chronicles published in conjunction with STRAWBERRY's 50th ANNIVERSARY were a typical example of residents and Strawberry Rec. staff colaboration. My husband Lew and I moved to Strawberry 27 years ago in the midst of the 1973 Strawberry Master Plan meetings. At the time this community effort to have a master plan for Strawberry was very innovative. In 1985 I served on the Committee to update Strawberry's Master plan and was one of five women who raised 50% of the funds needed to create the updated plan. I will make myself available for Strawberrians, as needed and will make time available for subcommittees such as co-ordinating the design/construction of an elevator for the "Rec. Center". |
