I believe the School Board job is to help prepare our children for life. We have raised standards, and provide the resources to attain them. Barriers to learning are being removed. We have established career academies in our schools. Our graduates are free to choose college or career because they are prepared. We have world languages in elementary school. Behavior standards are clear and consistent. Respect for others is taught and practiced. We have many different cultures in our district. Our students are ready for the people of the world. Our schools environments are desirable so we can hire and keep the best. Our buildings are taken care of. The leadership is stable and reliable (necessary for the long education process). Our staff is supported and respected in their work, so they can do their work. We have increased our parent, business, and community involvement because, after all, we want our children to be ready to take their places in the world. There have been some hard decisions and more lie ahead. I have the experience, knowledge, and heart to continue to make them. We're not done yet. Let me continue the work I have started. |
