Political Philosophy for Gay Jones

Gay Jones, Sacramento District Metropolitan Fire Board, District 8 1. The opportunity to contribute to my community is a prime factor in my decision to seek the position of District 8 Director with the Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District. My talents and experience match the needs of the new district. The decision to run for office entails a major personal commitment. I have made that commitment. 2. National Fire Protection Agency recommends a 2-mile radius for engine companies and a 3-mile radius for trucks. The protocol for Sacramento County calls for an 8-inute maximum response time for medical emergencies. This, though, is the starting point. Strategic relocation of fire stations includes evaluating response times, life hazards, target hazards, and ease of response into areas . 3. The fire service that has been provided to the Rancho Cordova community has, for many years, been excellent. If I could work towards one goal it would be to investigate increasing staffing on apparatus that respond in OUR community. 4. The Sacramento Metropolitan Fire District is the result of the merger of many fire district. Because we are in the process of another major transition it is difficult to fully evaluate areas that need to be changed until that transition is complete. I will have an ongoing evaluation process of the operation of the fire district once the new district is in place. 5. My candidacy brings to the district 27 years of Public Service, 19 of those years in the Fire Service. My skills in consensus building and critical analysis will contribute to the effectiveness and efficiency of the Fire Board. And; my commitment to excellence in fire protection for Rancho Cordova and District 8 is my pledge ... is my promise ... is OUR goal. |
