I was born and raised in Nothern California. I have lived in the area for 14 years. I graduated from Folsom High School and have attended American River College and CSUS. I am married to Roger Westrup of Sacramento and we have five children--Roger, Jr., Rebekah, Russell, Richard and Roland. Another daughter, Reagan, passed away in 1998. Before becoming a full-time Mom, I worked in the banking industry for six years, rising from teller to branch operations officer. I have been active in the community, serving on a wide variety of school district committees. Among them are the Early Literacy, Character Education, Assessment and Report Card Committees. I have been a PTA officer, served on two School Site Councils and I served on the District Advisory Committee of the North Sacramento School District. I have also volunteered in the classrooms of my children. I was the District Volunteer of the Year for the North Sacramento School District in 1997. I am active in Scouting. I have served as a Cub Scout Leader and a Boy Scout Leader and as a new leader trainer. I am the recipient of the Silver Bear Award for meritorious service. I also served as a church youth leader for four years. In my "spare" time, I volunteer with my family at Sutter's Fort State Historic Park in Sacramento and make classroom presentations on early California history. |
