During My Term I Worked To:

• Restore respect for all points of view
• Balance the Budget each year
• Raise all employee salaries
• Implement long overdue maintenance on our city streets
• Restore funding to non-profits
• Hire a new city manager
• Preserve "Palm Terrace" as part of our Laguna Park with the "Open Space District."
• Support a ban on aerial spraying of pesticides.
• Take the lead in solving traffic & pedestrian safety issues.
• Improve Gravenstein Hwy South and the 116 corridor.

• Proclaimed Mexican American Heritage Week 1st week in May
• Joined World Conference of Mayors for Peace, Hiroshima & Nagasaki
• Authored Proclamation against Land Mines and petitioned the President.
• Visited Ukraine as the only Mayor from Ca. For UN Peace Shield `98

• Designed the remodel of the Garzot -Duffield Bldg. next to the Super Playground for the Community Center
• Designed Woodstone Village the first small lot infill subdivision in town
• Designed scores of apartments for low and very low income families and seniors
• Designed over a hundred entry level homes for moderate income buyers.
• Licensed in 1991, I have owned my business in town for 5 1/2 years.

I have two sons Nick & Andy Katchmer ages 9 & 13 who go to school at Pine Crest and Brook Haven. I have supported them in their sports activities of Soccer, Football, Basketball, Little League Baseball, & skateboarding. I have a Master of Fine Arts Degree from Boston Univ. and a Master of Architecture Degree from UCLA. I was a college instructor in fine arts for 5 years before becoming an architect. In 1991 I helped as a committee member & foreman on the Super Playground. I organized local area dachshund owners to form "Doxies on Parade" for the Apple Blossom Parade. I have a sense of humor and love to laugh! I created a beautiful, drip irrigated drought resistant perennial garden at my home near Ragle Park where you can see me spending most of my spare time. I believe in real campaign reform. To that end, I am not accepting any donations. I rely on you to please spread the word to re-elect me! Thanks, Kathy
