Background

Born in Oakland, 1959. Raised in San Leandro. Educated at Chabot College in Hayward (3 - AA degress with 4.0 GPA) and in Europe (teaching credentials from private university). Teacher assistant since 1977; teacher since 1978. Married, 1980, to naturalized citizen. Employed in Pleasant Hill since 1981. Business manager since 1986. Resident of Plesant Hill since 1984.

Experience

Candidate for same office in 1996 after being drafted by largest and fastest growing 3rd party -- Natural Law Party. Assisted in crime study in 1993 in Washington, DC, where we were able to reduce violent crime by over 23% in 8 weeks (average of 15.5% overall). This was the latest of 15 other studies researching means of reducing crime, the first of which (1974) involved Pleasant Hill as one of the control cities.

Results of these studies, when viewed in total, show that the methods used were so encouraging and such strong research, that the odds of them being random chance were less than 1 in 1 BILLION! Intend to use these same, cost-effective, and scientifically proven methods to reduce violent crime within this district. The savings thus found are LOCAL savings, and will encourage they be used for bolstering education and returning to our tuition-FREE college education.

As employee, and later, manager of small businesses in the area, I know the costs and frustrations that a small business has to endure. I am therefore fiscally conservative, but due to my work as a teacher with non-profit oganizations since 1977, I am socially and environmentally aware.

Unlike other candidates and parties, as a candidate for the Natural Law Party, I take politics out of our decision-making process and bring the light of science to determine cost-effective and proven solutions to modern problems. Prevention is the key, and I apply scientific principles to prevent crime, improve our eductational system, and prevent health-care problems. The savings in crime and health-care costs will be used for education and infrastructure (roads and water systems, etc.) improvements.
