ABOUT CIRAN MARIE HADJIAN
Ciran Hadjian has volunteered much of her time and energy to the City of Pasadena, as well as to a variety of other local groups, including, private, and non-profit organizations, cultivating the skill to mediate among many differing views and interest groups. Her dedication to the City of Pasadena is clear: For over three years she served as an involved and decisive City Planning Commissioner. In that role, Hadjian frequently addressed and advised the Pasadena City Council on issues pertaining to proper city development.

Ciran Hadjian is a planning pro, long accredited by the American Institute of Certified Planners. She has worked in both public and private arenas, and local and federal governments including the position of Project Planner for the Community Redevelopment Agency of the City of Los Angeles. Currently, Hadjian is working for the U.S. Department of Housing & Urban Development as a Community Builder. She has managed, coordinated, and directed major outreach and community and economic revitalization efforts, such as the planning and redevelopment efforts for the Vermont/Manchester area, one of the South Los Angeles communities hard hit by the 1992 civil disturbance. Hadjian's expertise and credentials specifically cover urban design, historic preservation, environmental quality issues and transportation planning.

Ciran Hadjian was born at St. Luke Hospital in Pasadena, when her father was finishing up graduate work at Caltech.
Ciran Hadjian is married to Mark Tufenkjian, Ph.D., Professor of Civil Engineering at California State University, Los Angeles. Since marrying, the two have lived in this district for over 10 years. Mark and Ciran have a 6-month old son.
