PETER M. SOELTER

Age: 44

Occupation: Full-time Dad and PTA President

Pete Soelter is best suited to lead PUSD.

Children only have one opportunity. Our community must ensure each school year is educational, meaningful, special, and no child is left behind.

Pete Soelter has worked for 8 years to improve our public schools!

· He helped found Community Coalition for Quality Public Schools and organize the Education Summits.

· He was a vital member of the Class-Size Reduction Task Force.

· He serves as PTA president and on the International Baccalaureate Steering Committee.

· He and his wife belong to PEF's "Superintendent's Circle".

· As a volunteer, he has implemented "Classroom Wish-lists", Parent work-days, fundraising for music teachers, parent directories, and trips for students.

· He led the fight for lockers.

· He is an AYSO volunteer.

· A CPA and former CFO for UCLA Extension, he has the experience and temperament to be effective now.

Pete Soelter has children in 4th and 7th grades in PUSD. He knows what needs to be done -- and will do it! He:

· Cares about our children.

· Supports Charter Reform.

· Supports classroom discipline.

· Will bring immediate improvements.

Pete Soelter knows schools must improve NOW - for every child.

PUSD children deserve their opportunity.
