She attended public schools and is the recipient of honorary doctorate degrees in humanities and divinity. She is an advocator and a community worker and she volunteers as an active member of the Los Angeles Police Department Clergy Council. She has been a speaker and lecturer for more than 20 years. She lists the three main issues facing the mayor as accountability; allowing the public to be heard and following up with their requests; and listening to those who oppose certain developments placed in their communities. She believes the public wants answers and their issues resolved. Miller says she knows and accepts the fact that as mayor she would be a public servant and that the people would be her employers. She pledges to be faithful and accountable to the citizens and that "there will be no more backdoor deals at City Hall."
Miller says voters should vote for her because she is "highly committed to servicing the people, highly qualified, and has a better understanding of the needs of the people of all communities in the city."
