Communities like Fortuna don't just happen and keeping the special attributes takes work and foresight in all components.Those of you that know me know that I spend as much time as I can serving the community. Boy Scouts, Hydesville 4-H, Fortuna Rotary, Humboldt-Del Norte Cattlemen, Fortuna Chamber of Commerce, Apple Harvest Festival, Fortuna Rodeo, Interact, and Fortuna High School Board. I grew up in this county and I like the "friendly" way Fortuna does things. It doesn't take any extra time to approach concerns with a positive attitude and smile. Helping people is very important, and information and communication often is all that is necesary to empower us to solve community problems. I feel that our community members are the key to our communities success. I value this resource and our high school often needs this community direction. Fortuna High is training the next generation of Fortuna Leaders. I want them to have a great high school experience and to become productive community members who see the value of this experience and their community. |
