As a former teacher who now manages PCC's Computing Services, I share the desire of PCC's faculty to maintain academic excellence. As a former teacher who now manages PCC's Computing Services, I share the desire of PCC's faculty to maintain academic excellence. I am sure that you also agree that PCC must maintain its high academic standards. After all, high quality instruction is why so many parents send their sons and daughters to PCC. We now get more than 50% of our students from families outside our district. They know that PCC provides a higher quality education than some of our neighboring districts. But lately I've noticed a trend to emphasize meeting goals for student success at the expense of academic standards. If anything, we must enhance our standards not water them down. |
