Candidate for
Board Member; Sunnyvale School District

I have lived in the Santa Clara valley since 1947, and in Sunnyvale since 1958. I am a product of our public education system, including Sunnyvale High School, Foothill College, and San Jose State University. My degree is in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance.

I served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1961.

My work life has been entirely in the forest products industry, with the last 19 years at Sunnyvale Lumber, which is owned by My wife and I, and our three sons.

My volunteer life has always centered around the children of Sunnyvale. I have been a "Little League" and "Pop Warner" coach, I serve on the boards of project H.E.L.P. and the Sunnyvale Education Foundation. For the last four years I have served on the Sunnyvale School Board where I have been President and Vice-president. I have not accepted the pay normally associated with this position. I volunteer my time simply because our children are worth it.
