Kern County, CA | March 5, 2002 Election |
We must not over look minority votersBy Jim LopezCandidate for Republican Party Central Committee; County of Kern; Supervisorial District 1 | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
The surging Latino population in California, and especially in the Great Central Valley has brought us a tremendous opportunity to flex our political muscle. Both political parties have recognized the need to attract Latinos into their ranks. In fact, Latinos played a big role in the outcome of the last election in California. In terms of voting power, they will play an even greater role in the next election. They are the biggest prizes to be gained by either party. My goal is to foster the principles of the Republican Party in the Hispanic community of Kern County; to maintain family and religious values; to work for less government involvement in our lives; to reduce the tax burden placed upon us by the government; and to encourage free enterprise and individual initiative which have brought this nation opportunity, economic growth and prosperity. As Americans we must retain the principles that will ensure freedom, dignity of the human spirit, equal rights, equal justice and equal opportunity for all. |
