Smart Voter Political Philosophy for Larry H. Layton

Candidate for
Judge of the Superior Court; County of Los Angeles; Office 39

This information is provided by the candidate

My political philosophy as to slate mailers is as follows: I will not pay money to be on a mail out "slate". The reason is that most slates have a certain agenda or purpose other than just to inform the voter. Many of the slate mailers are out there just to make money. While they may say they have one agenda, the truth is they are just looking for someone to pay them money. Other slate mailers may have a hidden agenda trying to get someone elected that will vote or judge in a manner desired by the promoters of the slate mailer. I will not promise to be a certain kind of judge for an organization to put my name on thier slate. My promise is to be fair and just to all persons. If you do read a mail out slate, be sure to read all of the small print and information identified with an asterisk (*). That information can be very educational.

My political philosophy as to party affiliations is as follows: Because the office of Superior Court Judge is nonpartisan, I do not believe it is proper or important to put an emphasis on party affiliation. Suffice it to say I promise to treat all persons of each political party, religion, nationality, race etc. with equal fairness.
