Board Member; San Diego Community College District; Trustee Area C

I see this opportunity as one of signal importance to our community and I believe I can contribute significant service. Further, with the potential for reduced budgets for college programs it is doubly important to adopt sensible and community-relevant programs of construction, operation and curricula development.

Key issues facing the Community Colleges:

• Affordable, accessible instruction for new students;
• Retain simple, affordable methods of articulating to Universities and Colleges;
• Make certain the hiring, retention, and adequate compensation of instructors and staff members is a priority;
• Provide Vocational training of superior quality and rigor;
• Remain vital, accessible, and relevant to underserved and underrepresented communities in addition to all other priorities

I feel that the Community College system is so very important to our 'constituent infrastructure'.... the folks who really make up the fabric of our communities and neighborhoods. I will focus upon their needs by being available and active in behalf of all constituents, faculty members, and all persons in the employ of the College District.
