Ray Grabinski's Plan to Put Long Beach Neighborhoods First

• $80 million is available NOW for infrastructure improvements. Let's use it.
• Establish a "Pothole Hotline" and guarantee a 24-hour response to Graffiti or Pothole Complaints.
• Establish a mechanism for city employees to routinely report broken streetlights, graffiti, potholes, etc.
• Establish a Local Transportation Czar to focus on traffic problems and road improvements.
• Make a decision within 90 days to go forward or stop the Queensway Bay development.
• Begin a Parks In Perpetuity program to preserve our valuable open spaces.
• Work with the Boeing Realty Co. to modify their plans for the PacifiCenter so that it takes existing neighborhoods into account.

• Increase Community Policing
• Keep seasoned experienced officers on the streets.
• Put more cops on the streets.
• Expand tutoring, mentoring, and before and after school programs to keep kids off the streets and out of trouble.

• Open an Independent Office of Small Business to give small and mid-size businesses the same type of help as large companies get from the city.
• Reduce unnecessary fees such as the 16% business license surcharge and the utility user tax.
• Create a "Buy Long Beach First" program.
• Attract business and jobs in the medical, defense and high tech sectors of the economy.
