Political Philosophy for Loucy W. DeAtley
Candidate for |

Small business is the backbone of Danville's economy. Our voice must be heard in the twon meeting ahll and the town offices. That voice has been amplified and clarified by my involvement with the Danville Area Chamber of Commerce. Now, the time has come for that voice to have a seat on the Town Council. That is one reason I am a candidate. We in business strive to build a corporate culture that is responsive to the needs of our customers, we want our council members to possess the skills to nuture and grow a responsive government culture that is responsive to the needs of the community. That is another reason I am running for Town Council. We want counil members who possess the leadership skills to carry the day locally and regionally. Casting the lone "no vote" makes for a good sound bite or may grab a newspaper headline but it is not leadership. Leadership is bringing the majority around to the minority point of view. That is yet another reason I am running for Town Council. Danville is great place to live and we want to keep it that way. We want strong voices and strong leadership at both the local and regional level; someone with the skills to get the job done. Someone who sees beyond the single issue to the broad tapestry of issues that effect our town. Someone who reflects the dignity, knowledge and intelligence of our residents. My record as a Parks Commissioner and on the boards of Kids Country and the Chamber of Commerce prove that I have what it takes to get the job done. |
