Ray Muhammad is a former West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) elementary school teacher. Presently, he works as a firefighter for the city of Richmond.

He attended WCCUSD schools from kindergarten through 12th grade. Ray is a graduate of UCLA and has a BA in History. He is also a graduate of California State University at Hayward's multiple subject credential program.

His wife is a teacher for WCCUSD and a part-time instructor at Contra Costa College. Ray and Audrey are proud parents of a baby daughter.

Ray has earned a reputation of trust and admiration because of his work to improve the schools in the community. He has volunteered in classrooms and has taken a personal interest in the schools while serving as a Measure M Oversite Committee member.
