Nancy Greenstein has a lifelong commitment to education. After receiving her Bachelors Degree in Education from Boston University, she taught in a two-room school on the Navajo Reservation in New Mexico. She relocated to Southern California where she received her MSW from UCLA, and continued her work with Native American children and families. Later, Nancy served as a social worker with several Jewish community service agencies.

She then went to work for the City of West Hollywood where she served as the Public Safety Administrator. She has been recognized by the LA County Sheriff's Department, City of West Hollywood and International Chief's of Police Association for her work with community policing. Her success with community policing programs in West Hollywood led to her current position as a public safety director for the UCLA police department. While working at UCLA she returned to the classroom and received her Doctorate in Education.

In additional to her professional activities, she has been appointed or elected to positions of leadership on dozens of boards and commissions locally and regionally.
