The City presently has very little water for a major development, which impacts the development of the former Fort Ord property.
Water continues to be a major problem for the city as we plan to develope the former Fort Ord property. This issue truly needs to be dealt with in a positive manner. The City has used almost all of its allocated water except for some small bathroom additions. We are in the early stages of developing alternative water sources that may be benificial in future development, but lack the monetary resources to develop these sources. This does not preclude us from smaller projects that do not require much water. These projects would buy the city time and generate revenue to help fund the larger projects.
