Every student deserves a quality education emphasizing reading, writing, proper grammar, correct spelling, traditional math, and U.S. history.
As your board member, I will work to:

 Implement strong phonics-based reading programs
Support a curriculum that emphasizes "the basics"
Increase academic time in the classroom
Challenge the federally funded ineffective programs currently implemented
Provide teachers with the necessary materials, authority, and respect deserved
Truly empower parents in the decision making process
Have Westminster School Board meetings televised
Oppose anti-family bills AB537, AB1785, and AB1931My leadership role in my community has included PTA, school site council, Westminster Community Advisory Group and Westminster Historical Society docent. As an educator tutoring children, I've been able to witness first hand students handicapped by the inadequate educational foundation given in our schools. This sober reality fuels my passion to raise the expectation of each school, parent, and student. We CAN prepare our children to meet the demands of a competitive world with character, dignity, and self-reliance.
