Robert Henson is an icon of the community. He has been a very effective community activist for most of his 41 years in Santa Ana. He has been married to his wife Maria for 43 years and has raised and educated four children here. Robert recently retired from his position as a Contracts Manager for the Defense Contracts Management Agency under the Department of Defense.

Robert is well known for his community involvement and genuine desire to make Santa Ana a better place to live for all its citizens. He is currently on the board of directors of the Community Oriented Policing Association Westend Division, the Riverview West Neighborhood Association, the Council of Affiliated Negro Organizations Headstart/State Preschool, the Tri-City Memorial Committee (Santa Ana, Tustin, and Orange) and has an advisory role on the Santa Ana Black History Parade and Cultural Faire Organizing Committee, and on the Sights and Sounds of Santa Ana. He just finished his term as a Communications Linkage Forum director.

Robert is also active in his church as a Grand Knight of the Knights of Columbus Santa Ana Council 1842.
