VISION I wish to attain a leadership role in sustaining the quality of education in SVUSD, as well as enhancing by:

  • Extending family involvement
  • Empowering teacher and student to expect results and get results
  • Providing all students with motivating and meaningful programs, including arts, music, technical, and extracurricular choices
  • Enhancing library offerings and capabilities
  • Seeking academic excellence
  • Reducing student-teacher ratio
  • Assuring safe, sanitary, healthy and nurturing school environment
  • Bringing a new approach that emphasizes Citizenship and Community

TO ACCOMPLISH THIS VISION, MUST:
  • Attract and keep quality teachers, using incentives that won't damage the budget
  • Motive students, beyond tests and rote learning to innovation and critical thinking
  • Use effective monetary management and budget discipline
  • Match student enrollment and budget
  • Assure pupil attendance through incentives and penalties
  • Expand the use of community volunteers, as well as student service in the community
  • Have Board members with enthusiasm, empathy and experience
