A Teacher's Perspective for the Alum Rock School BoardAs a former teacher, I know that nothing motivates students more than success. But student success in the classroom requires commitment and integrity by trustees in the boardroom. The Alum Rock School Board needs members who are willing to listen, learn and act to create a successful learning environment for our students. That's why I'm asking for your support in November. My combination of practical educational experience and hands-on community involvement gives me a unique perspective. As a teacher, I have seen the genuine need to build partnerships by welcoming parental participation. We need to create a cooperative environment that encourages the input and involvement of our entire community. To achieve that, we should open budget discussions to the public to encourage fiscal responsibility, as well as focus on making our school facilities something in which our neighborhoods can take pride. This is a serious time for our district. We need to focus our attention on ensuring the academic success of our children. I am running for the Alum Rock School Board to ensure that our students have the support and facilities they need to succeed. |
