Candidate for
Board Member; Escondido Union High School District

Jon Petersen is a lifelong Escondido resident. He attended Oak Hill, Juniper, and Miller elementary schools and Del Dios Middle School. He then graduated from San Pasqual High School, where he returned as a teacher after earning his bachelor's degree. In 1998 Jon was part of the "dream team" of teachers who opened Valley Center High School, where he still teaches.

In addition to his service as a respected teacher, Jon Petersen served as chairman of the SPHS Site-Based Committee, and he served a term on the school district's curriculum council. Jon now serves on the Board of Trustees of the Escondido Union High School District.
