ELECT DEBRA SCHADE SOLANA BEACH SCHOOL DISTRICT I believe in public education and believe excellence in public education is achieved by keeping the focus on children. To this end I feel it is important to place an active parent with young children attending school in the district at the policy table. As an educator with over 20 years experience and a parent with young children in the Solana Beach Elementary School District, I am in a unique position to bring your voice to policy decisions. Why should you vote for Debra Schade? ·I am an advocate for children. ·I believe in quality child-centered education where each child's individual needs are met. ·I understand the value and commitment of quality staff and the importance of recruitment, training and maintaining teachers. ·I am a supporter of character education and community service opportunities for students. ·I believe in the advancement of each student a calendar year through differentiated learning. ·I fight for diverse representation on all school committees and leadership teams, in order to ensure that the unique needs and perspectives within our community are heard. ·I am a proponent of strong core curriculum while an advocate for innovative enrichment opportunities that foster critical thinking skills. ·I am an advocate for second language acquisition, science, music, and art programs ·I believe the school board is an open forum and will work hard to improve communication among board, staff, parents, and the community. ·I am very active in district and school leadership; Site Council President, District Strategic Planning Team, GATE Task Force, District Advisory Forum, PTA volunteer and supporter, Solana Beach Foundation for Learning Site Representative, School Volunteer. ·I am a supporter of School Site #6 and recognize the urgency to open a new school in Carmel Valley to ease overcrowding. |
