  • Occupation: Firefighter-Paramedic, San Francisco Fire Department
  • Attended San Francisco State College where he earned a degree in Economics (1971)
  • Former Paramedic with the Department of Public Health's 911 Emergency Ambulance Service in the Bayview-Hunters Point district (1977)
  • Former Police Officer, San Francisco Police Department - worked at Mission and Ingleside Police Stations (1981)
  • Resumed working as a Paramedic and completed a degree in Nursing (1985)
  • Convinced Mayor Art Agnos to sign legislation designating the Park Emergency Hospital building as the City's 201st historical landmark (1991)

Top Priorities if Elected
  • Preserving the architectural and historical buildings that are special to District 8.
  • A sustained education campaign, involving active participation by City government leaders, which promotes HIV testing and safe sex practices.
  • Working with District 8 small businesses making sure they are aware of the City services available such as loans and education programs.
