Daly City's YouthBy Maggie GomezCandidate for City Council; City of Daly City | |

Continuing to build a secure community for our children to grow and prosper in.As the mother of two college-aged children and an elected Member of the Jefferson Union High School Board of Trustees, concern for our children is one of my major issues. Today, Daly City boasts safe streets, and extensive programs that benefit our children. We have strong park and recreation programs that give our kids an alternative to gangs and drugs. The present council has worked with schools to help establish after school homework and tutoring programs, pre-school readiness programs and childcare programs. My goal is to enhance and expand these programs and they will be strong and comprehensive for todays children and for coming generations of kids. I want to ensure that Daly City youth grow up in safety and have access to positive programs that will enrich their childhood and help them become better, stronger adults. |
