Sproul Campaign PlatformBy Christopher Alan SproulCandidate for Recall of Gray Davis; State of California |
This information is provided by the candidate | |
The Recall should be defeated. California should, however, change past policy direction in favor of new, sustainable future policies.1. Vote No on the Recall!
Passing the Recall would establish a bad precedent that policy differences and partisan advantage can be the proper basis for recalling a Governor. Recalling a Governor should be limited to criminal malfeasance or incapacity to serve. 2. The State of California's Policies Must Change, To Embrace a Sustainable Future.
California Is Moving in the Wrong Direction, facing:
--Crisis water shortages on the horizon (Think rolling blackouts were bad, how about days with no water?).
 --Declining air quality.
 --Vanishing open space.
 --Increasing traffic congestion.
California Must Embrace "Smart Growth" and Sustainable Use of Our Resources, involving:
--Halting suburban sprawl and protecting greenbelts.
 --Revitalizing urban cores.
--Providing incentive for solar power (passive solar design and rooftop solar photovoltaics), water conservation, and resource conserving design and development.
 --Expanding water reclamation and recycling.
--Mass transit, transportation enhancing urban development design. |
