I am currently serving on the Washington Union School District Board of Trustees and have a strong commitment to the district to see that it remains one of the most oustanding in the state. I feel that I have the necessary knowledge, educational background, and experience to enhance the decision making process of the board. I have served as a Washington Union School District trustee member for sixteen years. I was a teacher for twelve years and I have held many leadership roles in our community. I feel that this background gives me a broad knowledge of curriculum, negotiations, teachers' needs, and finances of a school district. WUSD has met and surpassed the many educational challenges facing districts today. Our outstanding test scores are a testimony to the hard work of our staff in aligning the curriuclum and teaching to the state standards. Our limited financial resources continue to be a concern. I will continue to seek alternative ways to meet our financial obligations in order to assure we meet the high academic standards. |
