My goals that I pledge to fulfill reflect the needs and the issues that many of our residents, MPC faculty and staff as well as many students shared with me since I left the Board in 2001..· Continue being accountable for BALANCED budget and expenditures · Assure adequate funding for ALL programs and support their excellence · Enhance faculty and staff comprehension even in such critical fiscal times · Increase faculty and staff diversity · In cooperation with the community continue being accountable for fair share of Fort Ord conveyance land · Increase use of technology by our local residents, K-12 students and others · Increase the staff for our new Library and technology Center. It is a must if we are to fully use such beautiful academic "arena" · Apply my business, professional and MPC Trustee experience to ensure proper implementation of $145 million bond measure. We need a knowledgeable approach to repair and rebuild the campus that can only be realized through a real share governance participation and spirit. Involvement of ALL and equal chance for ALL is the only way toward success. · I am proud that I have initiated Community Board meetings and I will do my utmost to keep these meetings within local communities. · We live in a beautiful area where environment plays a vital role in our lives. I want to introduce environmental studies at the College and so give an opportunity to our residents to learn more about the environmental needs. · In my lengthy service on the Governing Board of the Monterey Peninsula Unified School District I have regularly visited the school sites. I have found these visitations very important and informative. Therefore, when I joined the MPC Board of Trustees I advocated for a more trustees' visibility on the campus. I will continue to be visible on the campus. · Increase community participation and continue to support Monterey Peninsula College Foundation. · Assure a share governance for ALL. Not only selected but all information must be shared with all participants : the faculty and the staff |
