What long-range non-traditional methods for school funding would you suggest?By Sara McAuley KranerCandidate for Board Member; Wyoming City School District | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
Fundraising Center for ExpertiseFirst, credit goes to the great work existing organization demonstrate in raising funds for activities throughout Wyoming Schools. The Wyoming School Foundation, Athletic Boosters, PSA and many others raise hundreds tot thousands of dollars each year and provide opportunities for students and improvements to the district facilities To share experience and ideas, and to enhance collaboration between these groups and others in the community, I would create a Fundraising Center for Expertise. This Fundraising Center of Expertise would be a resource to all school groups and would establish best practice for improving funding efforts. This groups would also act as a think-tank in generating strategy for increasing support from alumni, corporate partnership, and grant-in-aid opportunities. Finally I want to emphasize that the board's first responsibility is to carry out sound fiscal stewardship. Taxpayer dollars are the principal source of funding for schools and should be managed wisely |
