I seek balanced solutions to preserve our green spaces, wildlife, air and water quality.
I have been in the forefront of developing public policy that protects public health and our environment, while simultaneously protecting jobs and strengthening our local economy. I take a no nonsense approach to industrial safety and expect our industies to contribute to Contra Costa's quality of life. Safe workplaces must be a part of our county agenda.

I participated in creating the Briones Agricultural Preserve which has been successful in maintaining a large open space area as well as retaining wildlife habitate within the county. This is the only such area, outside the park system, in Contra Costa County.
