Yvonne Burke is an Attorney with previous service as Member of the California Assembly for 6 years, U.S. Congress 6 years and a member of the Board of Supervisors for 11 years. Previously served as Chair of the Los Angeles Federal Reserve Board, a Member of the Board of ETS, Ford Foundation, a Regent of the University of California and a member of the Board of Trustees of the University of So California. She has been honored by USC and UCLA as an outstanding alumni. She was a fellow at JFK School of Politcis at Harvard and a Chubb Fellow at Yale University.

She was active in the Civil Rights movement and the Women's movement.
