In order to do anything - improve traffic and parking, practice fiscal prudence, or maintain our great parks - the citizens of Walnut Creek will continue to require a city council answerable to them. Ceding that authority to "SMART GROWTH" - the ultimate oxymoron - will lose the council's accountability.
