Candidate for
City Council Member; City of South Lake Tahoe

Born in Flushing New York in 1952 his family moved to California when he was 6 years old. September 1, 1967 the family settled in Lake Tahoe opening a family run motel business. Bruce graduated from South Tahoe High School in 1970. Growing up working in the motel, Bruce spent much of his time helping to maintain and clean the property. During this time he developed a strong sense of work ethic and responsibility.

While attending Sacramento State he used public transportation to get around town and on his weekly trips to Tahoe. After receiving a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration and Government, he attended law school in Stockton. Bruce drove back and forth to Tahoe three times a week in his first car, a Dodge Colt.

He has practiced law since 1980 in the Star Lake Office Building. Bruce has acted as a judge pro tem in our local small claims courts from time to time, filled the vacancy on the city council between 1989 and 1990, was a member of the planning commission for eight years in the 80's, and was a member of the city's 20/20 committee "twenty citizens planning for twenty years" between 1976-78.

In 1997 he married Gerri Pointer, who manages a small property in town. When they aren't visitng family in Cambria or Las Vegas, they can be found at the local square dances. Bruce can also be found regularly at the local flea market.
