In these violent times, I believe the safety of our community should be the top priority of our city council. The budget should be prioritized to make sure our police and fire departments are adequately funded. The city council should be seeking money from the federal government to protect our community from attack. Oil refinerys and chemical plants are prime targets for terrorists. I will move the city council to work toward getting the federal government to assist us in protecting our refinerys and chemical plants from an attack.
I am fiscally conservative and while Mayor balanced the city budget and created the largest reserve (over $26 million) in the city's history. We should balance our budget and use this reserve only for public safety. Without a safe community all the parks and buildings the city is building will not make Carson the great city it should be. The greatest asset of our city are its residents not its buildings. We must protect this asset at all cost.
