My Pledge

Candidate for Board of Trustees; Santa Monica Community College District

This information is provided by the candidate
Our community college should serve our community. My family worked and sacrificed so I could be the first to finish college. I pledge to ensure that our local students have those same educational opportunities.

I promise to:

  • Preserve SMC's academic excellence as the top UC transfer school
  • Restore and enhance SMC's vocational programs, including automotive
  • Use my business/finance background to ensure that our tax dollars are spent wisely
  • Support SMC's specialized programs, including Emeritus College for seniors
  • Build bridges with neighborhoods, the City of Santa Monica, the City of Malibu and the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District
  • Include all members of our community in decision-making: faculty, employees, students, residents and local businesses

Community Service: Finance Chair, Bayside District Corporation (Third Street Promenade) Chair, Wilshire/Montana Neighborhood Coalition SMC General Advisory Board SMC Associates

SMC is ready for a new generation of leadership to guide it into the 21st century. I have the vision, determination, experience and ability to provide that leadership.
