Maintain Fiscal ResponsibilityBy Joe SnyderCandidate for Member, City Council; City of Dana Point | |
This information is provided by the candidate |
We run our city like a business - in the black with an annual budget surplus. We are virtually debt free and maintain adequate reserves to cover emergencies and long range capital improvement projects.Dana Point has a $24 million dollar annual budget that allows for contract obligations, operating expenses, beautification projects and capital improvement programs without raising taxes or increasing fees. The city is on a two year budget cycle which allows for long range planning and efficient administration. The city has a history of being fiscally conservative. Therefore, there is a budget surplus every year plus adequate reserves to handle the unforeseen. The city has virtually no debt. |
