Board Member; Goleta Union School District

QUALITY EDUCATION FOR OUR CHILDREN

I will ensure every child in the Goleta School District will be given the highest quality education possible. Teachers play a critical role in the education of our students. Their professional knowledge, expertise, ability to inspire as role models, and their caring commitment helps students succeed both academically and socially to grow as individuals. We must give them the tools and resources they need to prepare our children for the future.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

I will promote fiscal responsibility and ensure that school funds are well managed. Working with my fellow board members, I will maintain a "rainy-day" fund and provide strong accountability for expenses and programs, so that we can provide more to more students. It is important to minimize the impact of potential budget cuts on students.

WORKING TOGETHER

Working in partnership with parents, teachers, administrators, and community members, we can meet the challenges ahead. I enjoy bringing together people with diverse views to achieve shared goals.

We have great schools and I will work with fellow board members to make them even better. Only by working together can we address the difficult issues facing public education today.
