Trustee; Santa Barbara Community College District; Trustee Area 3

I have spent nearly my entire career volunteering at SBCC in several capacities and teaching classes in the adult education division. As a member of the Foundation for Santa Barbara City College since 1983, I have raised more than $4 million to benefit the college. I am a part-President of the Citizen's Advisory Council for SBCC's Adult Education Program and a past-President of the SBCC Business and Industry Associates. I have also served on the Board of Trustees during difficult years (1989 to 1994), when a recession cause a shortage of funds from the State of California to the entire community college system. During those years we made many wise decisions that have created an even stronger college for our community today.

I am also a volunteer for Girl Scouts of Tres Condados, Girls Inc., Santa Barbara Trust for Historic Preservation and for Unity Church of Santa Barbara. I am a member of the Downtown Rotary Club of Santa Barbara, a member of the Santa Barbara Board of Realtors, and a Board Member of the Arthur N. Rupe Foundation.

I have been happily married for 23 years to Peg; we have 2 children, Jenny & Charlie. Both of our children have attended SBCC; one now attends UCLA and the other UCSB.
