Candidate for
Council Member; City of Milpitas

I am seeking re-election to my third and final council term to the Milpitas City Council. Since college in the late 60's, public service is my passion and chosen career path. Not many can afford to take this path but I have been very fortunate to be married to my husband Gary for almost 32 years who has given me the ability and encouragement to fulfil my passion For public service while raising our children.

My public service began in Milpitas around 1978 as a teachers aide. By 1982 I became totally involved in major city issues; bringing back Nob Hill Foods to Milpitas through a controversial election, new housing (Hillcrest), hillside preservation, child care task force and Milpitas Planning Commission for 6 years, chairing over 3 years. During that time I was able to have a major impact on the quality of life in Milpitas with the development of McCarthy Ranch, Milpitas Square, the Great Mall and affordable housing. I finally reached my goal and was elected to the Milpitas City Council in 1996.
